This is a lap of the “Green Hell” with Sabine Schmitz on the 5th of September 2010. It was great to have Sabine as our driver, and a huge thanks to her and BMW RingTaxi for the thrill of being driven at high speed on a track that takes many years to learn. We had so much fun, and highly recommend it to anyone going to Germany, that likes the Nurburgring, and isn’t game enough to bring their own car, or hire a track day car. And we can’t help but congratulate Sabine for saying the line “I tell you something, I could do that lap time in a van”, which ultimately led to Jeremy Clarkson pretty much being beaten around the ‘ring by Sabine in a diesel Ford Transit van. A short clip of me driving a big American (hire car) in heavy, slow moving North Manhattan traffic whilst listening to a local radio show. I was over for work and decided to drive across to Queens from Newark – madness. At the end is a small sighting of a Honda Insight hybrid car amongst the gas guzzlers.

This is one of the few remaining Chrysler Turbine cars that actually runs. It sounds like a jet airplane!

www.costablancauncovered.com Javea’s Arenal beach is the most popular beach for holidaymakers with it’s golden sand and plenty of bars and restaurants along the promenade. The bustling Arenal area is basically the sandy blue flag beach which is surrounded by shops, bars and restaurants such as the renowned Los Remos or La Boheme. It’s a great place to walk along the promenade in the evening. It’s very touristy obviously and is the least Spanish part of Javea but nevertheless it is a crucial part. During the evening in the summer there are various stalls here selling a variety of handmade crafts. Many of the bars have live music and there are several discotheques. Try the Platino bar for entertainment such as Adam King singing live on most Saturdays. The most popular bar is known as Champagne which has been renamed Jalousie. Set off the beach is the popular Irish Bar An Shebeen. This is the place to enjoy the Javea nightlife which although relatively quiet and limited does have it’s lively spots such as the nightclub Achill.
